Home from home in Stonehaven Harbour

As you drive down the High Street through Stonehaven Old Town and towards the Harbour, it feels like you enter a portal and emerge in another world. Troubles are left behind, everything slows down, the air freshens, and life is somehow brighter, and more optimistic. In short, good things happen.
Although it’s less than twenty miles from Aberdeen, you could be almost anywhere in Europe. Rather than splurging the bank balance on a flight or driving further afield, why not choose a short break a little closer to home? Why not choose Stonehaven?

At Shorehead Guest House, we regularly have visitors who have decided to “get away from it” without having to travel too far. Stonehaven Harbour is a great base for a short break. There are several fantastic bars and restaurants right on our doorstep, and it’s only a five-minute walk into the centre of town. Whether you’re celebrating an occasion, treating yourselves to a special meal, or simply looking for a change of scene, it’s a great place to start a good night out!
It’s easy to leave the car behind while you’re here. There are some great walks - head south and Dunnottar Castle is less than thirty minutes away along the stunning coastal path. North, and the boardwalk leads you along Cowie Bay. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you could try paddleboarding in Botany Bay or book a session in the beach-front sauna. Maybe bring your swimming costume and go for a refreshing dip?

After a short time at Stonehaven Harbour, our guests feel relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to re-enter the real world. Many return time after time, often bringing friends to share the experience. Why not give it a try?
