Why not combine Business with Pleasure?

Most of our guests are on vacation, exploring Scotland or searching for family connections from the past, however Stonehaven also gets it's fair share of business travellers. They often arrive slightly fraught after a long day in meetings or travelling, in desperate need of some downtime. Fortunately, our little place by the sea offers them just that!
Stonehaven is perfectly located for the business hubs in the area; located about 15 miles south of Aberdeen, it’s easily accessible by car via the A90. It’s also well served by public transport; the train station has regular services from Aberdeen, taking about 15 minutes, as well as connections from Edinburgh and Glasgow. In addition, Aberdeen International Airport is only a 30-minute drive away.

Stonehaven harbour offers a selection of wonderful places to eat, have a drink and wind down at any time of the day, and there are plenty of places to walk or run right on our doorstep. Getting outside has a magical impact, connecting with nature and offering revitalising sea-air while stretching your legs. Whether you decide to follow the boardwalk along the beach, scale the cliffs to visit Dunnottar Castle (just 1.5 miles away), visit Dunnottar Woods or explore Stonehaven Old Town, there’s plenty of options without needing to get back into the car.
I was there for 2 days on a business trip but I had time to enjoy the Marine Hotel.
Take a short walk up to the war memorial (and beyond) for incredible views.

If you have downtime, the location is also an ideal base for exploring the wider region. The city of Aberdeen, with its museums, galleries, and shopping. The Cairngorms National Park, about an hour’s drive west, offers stunning landscapes, hiking trails, and opportunities for wildlife spotting. The Aberdeenshire Coastal Trail, with its scenic villages and cliffs, is also within easy reach. The options for short trips are almost endless, and the long summer days provide plenty of time to explore after work!

We’ve seen a transformation in some of our business visitors after a couple of days with us by the sea. They almost feel guilty for having enjoyed their visit so much. They inevitably leave raving about their experience and promising to return.
Superb harbour front location - a fantastic location to wake up in. I hope to return!

Why does it have to be a choice between business and pleasure? Why not give yourself a treat when you’re away from home on business and stay somewhere that allows you to relax and rejuvenate so you’re even better prepared for the working day when it arrives?
